Myrineth [Above the Bowl]
Pearlized iridescent colors glisten in the light, antique gold and silvery blue dancing over deep forest green. Pinks and violets meld with amber hues to defiantly play across this lady's soft hide, fading into the richer greens of a fir tree seemingly hung with faerie lights; tints of fiery red and bronze smoulder over translucent wings. Despite the tapestry of color that enfolds her form, this delicate little beauty of a dragon is most definitely green. She carries herself gracefully, sharp talons glinting with golden taupe hues as she steps out into her world, lifemate by her side.
Mounted safely between two neckridges is Calissan.
Myrineth seems to be listening.

Rhyath heads in from above the lake.

Myrineth bugles a greeting to Rhyath, plumes of white accompanying the outrush of breath. Catia just waves over, hugging her son in tighter as Myri banks, heading down.

Wings tired? Or you just want to feel solid earth beneath your paws…
Central Bowl
Seven spindles brush the clouds - quite literally - overhead, a jagged, spired cotillion grey-stoned majesty. The bowl from here is expansively large, extending a full half mile in both directions, and although sometimes a bit of a stretch, most of the hubs of activity can be easily observed. Hard-packed ground shows the common pathways, all of them meandering about the craggy bunch of boulders that form a centerpiece: carven, hand-worn and foothold-full, it gives a bit of centerpoint to the otherwise vast emptiness of the area.
To the north lie the hatching grounds and leadership weyrs, while the lows of herdbeasts mark the feeding pens to the northeast. A flurry of ever-present activity marks the living caverns to the west, and another time-traveled path the ground weyrs just adjacent to the southwest. Southeast, a glint of blue shows the lake, glittering and cold.
It is a winter midmorning. The sun is well up, promising to dispell the bitter cold of the previous night. The day is bright and mostly clear, although breath still frosts in the chilly air.
Clinging to footholds in the boulder-mound is Cadwaladr.
Brown Amanoth, green Siulth, and bronze Danzith are here.
Amalia is here.

Calissan slips down Myrineth's side, using the dragon's foreleg as a step.

Rhyath drops in from above, landing with a light *thud*.

Calissan wriggles from his mother's grasp and slithers, with the ease of practise, down Myrineth's side. "Ullo," he greets the dragons - and people- present, head cocked as he looks up at his ma.

Atop Rhyath, Lani hooks her helmet onto Rhayth's straps and tousles her hair before negotiating the perilous distance to the ground.
Lani slip'n'slides down Rhyath's rummy neck.

Amalia keeps well back from the landing dragons. afterall, who knows what these two might do? she smiles though, and waves. "Hello." she says, greeting riders, dragons, passengers etc.

You slip down Myrineth's side, using her foreleg as a step.
Catia swings herself down Myrineth's side, dropping with a light thud into the hard-packed snow. "Morning all."

Lani grins, chapped lips and all. "G'morning," she carols briskly.

Calissan tugs restlessly at his mother's sweater, not really looking at the people. "Can I go and play?"

Rhyath busily licks herself up some snowballs, scintillant eyes twinkling at Myrineth and passing momentarily over the wingless entourage. Are you all here to see me?

Myrineth drops her head to nudge gently at the hatchling… /he/ won't mind if Myri tips him into the snow, but Catia will.

Amalia smiles as she recognizes everyone. That's always good…"Hello Lani, Catia, Calissan."

Catia tucks the end of Cal's scarf firmly into the rolled neck of his heavy sweater. "If you like, love… don't forget that the harper's expecting you later on!" She grins at Lani and Amalia, a little sheepishly.

Brekka wanders in looking a bit lost and leans against the far wall shyness overcoming her

Lani sheds her gloves and flaps her leathers grandly. Flushed with flight enthusiasm. Guess where she's been today! "It's Amalia, right…?"

Amalia nods. "Yes, I'm Amalia. oh, hello." she says, finally noticing the newest arrival. she waves at Brekka, making it so everyone knows who she said hello to.

Myrineth scratches at the snow with one forepaw, uncovering frozen ground below. Whirling eyes fix lightly on the young gold.
Myrineth senses that she thinks « Have you flown far? »

Calissan makes a face at his mother, then trots off, pausing only to give Myrineth a warm pat. A true Weyrbrat he is - far more interested in dragons than people.
Calissan bounces to the Lakeside.

Lani turns her smile to the blondish girl, nodding greeting before chuckling at Calissan. "So this is your son, Catia?"

Amalia smiles. "So, Catia, Lani. How're Myrineth and Rhyath today?"

Brekka smiles back eyes instantly dropping to her feet, whats so interesting there no one knows but she does this often. she remains quiet and listening

Myrineth senses Rhyath makes bright pictures. « Nabol. We did not land though. » to her.

Catia waves a gloved hand genially after the small boy as he rushes off to play with his friends. And hopefully not fall in the lake. "That was Calissan…." She grins again, offers a smile to the stranger. "Myri's fine, Amalia…" is her answer to the assistant headwoman as she leans back against the green. "She just said you and Rhyath went to Nabol, Lani…. tweening already?"

Brekka nods and speaks softly "Caliassan… I will try to remember that….I'm Brekka." she blushes at her boldness and drops her eyes again

Amalia smiles slightly as the shy one speaks. "Well met Brekka. I'm Amalia." she tries to figure out how to keep the girl looking up…that way she'd be able to see her face more clearly.

"Rhyath's great, Amalia," Lani replies, including more of her own feeling in that. She grins at Catia. "Well, sort of. We're really careful. We flew straight…To my family's hold. It's only a few hours, on the border of High Reaches and Nabol. And then we *betweened* home." Memorising places. For the future.

Brekka nods and says "Amalia" out loud very softly, this helps her remember names see. Her eyes wander to the dragons gaze soft but she doesn't seem comfortable looking at humans….too shy you see

Catia nods to the weyrling, dark eyes solemn. "I'm glad you're careful… wouldn't want to lose you and Rhyath." Or any of them, for that matter… "It's cold out here… anyone coming in for klah?"

Amalia nods and smiles. "I think that would be a good idea, Catia. Would you like to join us, Brekka?"

Myrineth snuffles towards the shy girl, muzzle stopping about a metre from her. She's curious, always.

Lani nods. "Tea for me. For three?" she adds, going with the rhyme. "Or more. For four?" she includes Brekka in the invitation.

Brekka nods gold locks brushing her cheek and says a soft "Yes," she looks at Myrineth starting to reach out then drops her hand quickly afraid to offend

Myrineth snorts, a whuffle of white air bursting out over Brekka. "Myri… let her be…" Catia mutters, thumping her lifemate's neck. "Come for something to drink, Brekka… I'm Catia and this is Myrineth." Belated introductions.

Lani tacks on her own introduction. "Lani…And Rhyath with the snowballs, there."

You go to the Living Caverns.
Living Caverns
The rough-hewn majesty of this cavern far outpaces any delight in the multitudes of curves that form its enclosure. The glabrous grey granite is shot through with translucent obsidian, lending subtly-veined sparkle to the walls and the foot-trodden smoothness of the floor that shows centuries-old placements of the scarred trestle tables; carven hollows give homes for the glow baskets and the coat-pegs that line the walls. No mosaics, no painting, no tiles: just a few well-done tapestries mark the pathway that lead to the kitchen to the north and the inner caverns to the west, and frame the nighthearth's stew and snacks, while a heavier strip of oiled canvas shields the unwary from the wind in the bowl.
Tucked into a glowlit niche are Shavira, Miriamele, Majicke, Vibo, and Brute.

Central Bowl> Catia walks to the Caverns.

Central Bowl> Lani admonishes her dragon. Good behaviour. Practice makes perfect. And then she shuffles into the caverns.
Lani strides in from the Central Bowl.

Central Bowl> Brekka smiles shyly eyes still not quite meeting the others, she murmurs "Well met."

Central Bowl> Kyleth drops in from above, landing with a light *thud*.
Central Bowl> Enya quietly slips off Kyleth's back and slides to the ground with a quiet plop.

Central Bowl> Amalia smiles and waves. "Hey, Enya."

Central Bowl> Rhyath leaves off her snow tasting to whistle through her teeth at Brekka. A flutter of wings distracts her. Allo Kyleth!

Central Bowl> Myrineth rumbles at her wingmate, drawing her head back from Brekka and scratching at the snow once more.

Central Bowl> Brekka giggles very softly at Rhyath and sidles back a bit closer to Amalia as the stranger arrives.

Catia yawns a little, pouring klah into a mug for her, and hot water for Lani. "Want some herbs or have you got your own?" Gloves are stripped, scarf unwound and she drops into a seat.

Central Bowl> Enya looks around as she slips off her Blue's back, "Hullo all!" She plops down once again on her lifemate's bulky blue paw. Kyleth simply burbles happily and cranes his neck over to watch the others snow tasting? hrm. His darting blue head ducks down to slurp the stuff. hrm…cold but, yummy!

Central Bowl> Amalia grins. "Would it be safe for me to give Kyleth a scritch hello, or do you think he'll go strange on me again?" she asks Enya.

Central Bowl> Rebeccah walks in.
Central Bowl> Rebeccah says, "hello"

Central Bowl> Amalia waves. "hello." she replies to Rebeccah.

Central Bowl> Enya chuckles, "Awh don't worry about that, he's mostly forgotten to pout anymore, the sweetsticks and sunbathing brought him around." she smiles to Rebeccah and Brekka, Kyleth turns his head and burbles his usual greeting, tail thumping on the hard packed ground happily.

Dogging Catia's footsteps, Lani pauses, hand mid-reach for the tea pot. She blinks. "I never thought of that. I normally just use whatever's here." She laughs and admits, "It's hard to get used to the idea of having a weyr all to yourself." Almost like life has started again after a lovely detour. "I'll make do for today, but I might beg some camomile and peppermint later…"

Central Bowl> Amalia laughs and nods. "Oh good." she says with a grin as she walks over to Kyleth to lightly scritch his at his neck. she heard somewhere that that's a sensitive spot, like the eye ridges. good spot for scritching.

Central Bowl> Brekka smiles at Enya eyes dropping to the ground shyly with a soft "I'm Brekka."

Catia grins at Lani, swinging her boots up to the opposite bench with a 'thump'. "I'll bring you some as a weyr-warming present… I have plenty. I get good supplies from Narali - L'shil's mother." A slurp of klah, and the healer eyes a plate of sweetrolls.

Central Bowl> Calissan bounces in from the Beach.

Central Bowl> Enya smiles to the girl, "Hullo! I'm Enya and this is Kyleth." she nods to the blue dragon behind her.

Central Bowl> Calissan trots back through, looking very wet and very miserable. Straight up to Myrineth he goes, ignoring all people… "Where's Momma?"

Myrineth senses that Rhyath sprawls and slurps louder than Kyleth. There's red snow in the feeding pens. Herdbeast flavor.

Central Bowl> Rebeccah says, "hello Enya Kyleth"

Central Bowl> Amalia smiles. "She's in the caverns, Calissan." she answers the boy before going to back to scritching Kyleth.

Central Bowl> Myrineth nudges at the little one, eyes whirling. Catia's not going to be happy that he's all soggy….

Central Bowl> Rebeccah says, "you like i could impress a dragon"

Central Bowl> Brekka nods and says to herself softly "Enya….Kyleth, Calissan, Catia, Lania, Rhyath, and Amalia" She is trying to remember names see…..

Central Bowl> Calissan scowls, and then offers a half-beamed smile at Amalia. "Thank you." Slosh slosh scuff into the living cavern he goes.

Myrineth senses that Kyleth slurps at the thought, «yum, runner flavored is good too..»

Central Bowl> Amalia nods. "You're welcome." she says as she continues the scritch.

Central Bowl> Calissan bounces to the Caverns.
Calissan bounces in from the Central Bowl.
Calissan drips his way in. "Mooommmmmm!" Not quite a wail, but verging on it. "I got wet."

"Look forward to it," Lani answers absently with the air of one who's attention is momentarily diverted elsewhere; in this case, to not scald herself. She comes to the table and seats heerself carefully. "I'm listening to the echoes at the moment," she says of her weyr, voice trailing off into, "Uhoh."

Wart blinks in from ::between::!

Central Bowl> Myrineth yawns, mouth opening very wide to show sharp teeth.
Myrineth senses that she thinks « You're making me hungry. »

Central Bowl> Kyleth burbles happily under the scritch, lidding his inner eyelid and resting his head on the ground. From where she sits, Enya smiles and nods to the others, nice sized gathering in the bowl for being almost winter.

Central Bowl> Rhyath cants her head at Myrineth.
Myrineth senses that Rhyath is magnanimous. « Want one of my snows? »

"Uh-oh?" Catia wonders at Lani… then frowns at her son. "Isn't the lake iced over yet?" Beckoning him over, she strips off his scarf and sweater. "Well done, love… nice and soggy. You know what this means, don't you?"

Central Bowl> From Enya's shoulder, Phoenix chitters at all the big flits, no fair, his big brother Kyleth gets all the attention! I'm cute! the bronze firelizard croons and fans his wings in a pose see? purtty!

Central Bowl> Myrineth scratches again at the snowy ground, raking it into long furrows.
Myrineth senses that she thinks « It doesn't taste of anything. »

Myrineth senses that Kyleth burbles an agreement of sweetsticks and bubblies, «Slurp, yup, snow flavors are good….need a cookie flavored snow though.»

Central Bowl> Amalia leans on Kyleth's foreleg to get a better view of Enya and her crooning firelizard…she smiles. "He's cute." she comments, pointing towards Phoenix.

Myrineth senses that Rhyath, helpful: « It's lake flavoured »

Central Bowl> Rebeccah says, "yes he is what's his name"

Calissan scowls half-heartedly, letting his mother unwind him from the wet clothes. "No cookies?"

Central Bowl> Enya smiiles to Amalia, "Oh Phoenix? Nuff brought his egg up to my weyr a seven day ago, little bugger was acting drunk as a harper when he hatched!" she chuckles and rubs the flit's eyeridge. "Glad he wasn't blue, Ky would have been jealous!"

Myrineth senses that she sighs softly. Lake-flavoured. « The lake doesn't taste all that good, you know. » Some knowledge evidently only comes with age.

Central Bowl> Brekka giggles softly at the little bronze lizard her green eyes look up to look at him eyes resting a moment shyly on Enya and amalia then turn back to the dragons quickly, shy and quiet this one, she moves gracefully closer to the dragons though

Betwixt a smile and a frown, Lani catches the attention of one of the serving men. "Could we have a towel or two, please…?" she asks, eyes turning back to mother and son and leaping with amusement at Calissan's scowl.

Catia blinks, face mild. She's hiding a smile, of course… "No. It means you have to have a bath once I get you upstairs…" She winks at Lani over the boy's head, calling, "And some hot milk?" after the drudges.

Central Bowl> Amalia laughs. "I bet Ky would have been jealous, yes." she moves around Ky's foreleg and whispers something to Enya.

Central Bowl> Rhyath's tongue licks with less relish.

Myrineth senses that Rhyath considers, open to persuasion. « Well, Rennth's one does swim in it. » Rhyath's seen him. « Fully clothed »

Central Bowl> Enya grins and nods to Kyleth's other bulky forepaw, the looks to Brekka, "You can have a seat if you want. Kyleth doesn't bite! well…not often.." she winks. Offering the seat though one paw is big enough for two… Kyleth settles down in the ground again and his tail snakes around and between the human's legs, not snatching anyone, just exploring.

Central Bowl> Amalia laughs, and even though she's not his rider, she feels like saying it…"Kyleth, behave. I know you did that to me…" well, he did that to her in a different way…he snatched her instead of just exploring. she really hopes Enya doesn't mind her saying that….

Myrineth senses that Kyleth burbles, «should have made the lake with floating cookies and…slurp, sweetsticks! /then/ lake flavor would be good! Fun to swim in too!» he slurps at the thought. yummy!

Central Bowl> Brekka nods and moves forward shyly with a very soft "thank you." she sits down on Kyleth's forepaw and gently scritches him talking softly to the blue where no one can hear her but him

A bath? Hot milk?! Calissan really doesn't think he deserves this, just for tripping over at the edge of the lake, and falling in… just a teeny bit! Another, pleading scowl is directed at his mother, followed by a hopeful look at Lani. Maybe she can help, she's got a gold dragon after all….

Lani ruthlessly drowns her laugh in her tea. "You're wet already," she observes to Calissan, marshalling arguments for little-boy objections to bathing. She knows that look, used it herself before. Divide and conquer.

Central Bowl> Myrineth is definitely fed up of loitering in the snow, and scrambles to her feet, edging to a clear space for take-off.

Myrineth senses that she thinks « The lake tastes of nothing, the snow tastes of nothing and I'm cold. »

"But he's cold-wet. It's better to be hot-wet," Catia frowns, taking a long sip of her klah. Ah-hah… here's the milk. "Drink it Cal," she threatens gently. "Else /really/ no cookies."

Myrineth senses Rhyath's thoughts brush with leave taking. Try the brown snow. A bit muddy. to her.

Myrineth thinks to you, « I bespoke Rhyath with: Myrineth shudders are she curls down into the warmth of her couch, leaving soggy footprints throughout the weyr. A whispered « You think that makes it taste better? » goes back to her. »

Calissan drinks. Scowls. Gets a milk moustache. And drips some more.

Alright, alright…. Catia abandons her klah and catches hold of the boy's shoulder. "Excuse us, Lani… I'm going to dump this soggy hatchling in the bath." And then maybe he can have a cookie.

"Well, actually, I'm going that way. I wanted to speak to Aslyn about some furniture…Oh, and here's the towels," Lani says brightly.

Catia grins at the goldrider, taking the towels as she pulls Calissan towards the inner caverns. Handy, having stairs to their weyr… as Lani is no doubt learning. "I'll drop you some tea-herbs around later!"
Catia leads Calissan out.
